Brother Dismas Renews His Vows

Br. Dismas, needing to renew his temporary vows, recently travelled to St. Joseph’s Abbey in Spencer, Massachusetts, where Dom Stan has been several months on sabbatical. Mepkin’s Br. Rafael Maria travelled with him. The visit was, both for each brother and Abbot Stan, a good time of reunion and strengthening of fraternal ties. Dismas requested that the three Spencer monks who have been juniors with him act as witnesses to the event. Their presence gave the event a significance it may not otherwise have had. Spencer’s Br. Simeon summed it up afterwards, saying “I had a real strong sense of the unity of the Order.”
