After 24 days in the hospital, Father Stan returned to Mepkin today at about 1:00 PM. The last 17 days of his stay were spent in Roper Rehabilitation Hospital. The abbot couldn’t be more effusive in his praise of the staff of Roper Rehab, whose firm persistence and gentle care helped him to progress quickly in his recovery. While he still requires the use of a walker, Father Stan is up and about, and he will be continuing his rehabilitation at Mepkin. He would especially like to thank all of you who sent cards and flowers or took the time to visit him at the hospital. The brothers, too, are grateful for your concern and ask that you continue to pray for the abbot’s continued recovery.
