Abbot Stan had a serious fall on June 17th while away from Mepkin on monastery business. He was taken by ambulance to Roper St. Francis Hospital in Charleston where he underwent surgery on June 19th to repair a broken bone just below the hip socket of his left leg. Every day sees an improvement in Fr. Stan’s condition, but the rehabilitation period will take some time. Having been cared for on the hip and joint replacement unit of Roper Hospital for a week after his surgery, he was transferred to the Rehabilitation Hospital at Roper for extensive therapy. Please remember him and the community in your prayers. We will provide new information here as we receive it.

Please send all correspondence for Fr. Stan to Mepkin Abbey; someone from the monastery visits him every day and delivers his personal mail.
