Brother Edward reads the opening poem

The Abbey church was once again filled with over a hundred music lovers coming to enjoy the annual Piccolo Spoleto festival, in which Mepkin has participated as a host for 14 years now and running. The Ensemble of St. Clare, comprised of the Lowcountry’s leading Chamber musicians, gave an exquisite performance of works by composers Gavin Bryars, Alessandro Marcello, and Johannes Brahms. We dined with our guests in an outdoors reception following the performance — gratefully, under clear skies and perfect weather!
