On Monday, October 12th, Father Richard left us to return to Esmeraldas in Ecuador to take up his work as chaplain to our sisters there once again. You will remember that Father Richard came home from Ecuador last October for health reasons and had open heart surgery after his doctors examined him and received the results of their tests. While it has been a careful and somewhat long road to recovery, Father Richard received the approval of his doctors and the abbot to make the journey and return to this work which he loves so much. The monks of Mepkin are grateful both to Father Richard for his wonderful generosity and care with the sisters, and are grateful to the sisters for their goodness to Father Richard at the time of his illness. Please keep Father Richard in your prayers.
