But For those courageous enough to confront themselves amidst the silence will find a supportive community full of love and genuine hospitality. It’s an ideal environment to take a contemplative stance that poses the least resistance to being overtaken by the Divine. Having been graciously integrated into Trappist life as a monk for a month, I am now convinced Mepkin holds the antidote for today’s most serious spiritual ills. The MGP is the South’s best kept secret, a treasure hidden within an unbroken chain of 1,000 years of contemplative life and wisdom.
