New Assignment for Fr Joe

Father Joseph Tedesco OCSO, our former Superior for the past 7 years, has been appointed as the Monastic Commissary for Bethlehem Abbey in Northern Ireland. Father Joe began this assignment on March 17th, the Feast of St. Patrick, upon the announcement from the Abbot General’s Office in Rome, Italy. Fr Joe will move to Bethlehem Abbey in late June after completing several prior commitments here.

Monastic Commissary is the title given to a monk appointed as Superior to accompany a fragile community in its renewal. This new assignment for Father Joe is for 2 years. As he remains a member of the community, he will return to Mepkin Abbey in due time to continue his monastic life.
