New Psalters at Mepkin
Abbot Stan distributed new Psalters to the community on August 23rd, 2014 to replace the books the monks at Mepkin have been using seven time a day, seven days a week for the past 38 years. “Prayer comes from God himself….and the Psalter is prayer inspired by God,” said Abbot Stan.
The new Psalters, which use the Grail, England, 1963 and 1983 translation, are dedicated to Mary, Queen of Citeau, our TYMPANISTRIA. The inscription on each of the hand-numbered copies reads:
This handwritten Psalter is lovingly offered to the Glory of God and to bless the liturgical life of the Mepkin Community. It is given by Robert and Ann Ferrell in Honor of their long friendship with Reverend Calvin Myers and his wife Marlyn.
The calligraphy was done by Margaret Daly-Denton for the limited edition of 100 copies which were printed at Knight Printing and Graphics.
