Three Observers Visit Mepkin

If you are at Mepkin these days, you will notice three men wearing blue shirts. The blue shirts signify that the wearer is an Observer, someone who has come to look at monastic life to see if that is where God is calling him. Jesus Acosta, age 52, is from Miami. Jophan Porter, 47, is a native of Guyana but resided in Tampa, Florida before arriving at Mepkin. Paul DeWeese is a 64-year-old native of Michigan; he took part in last year’s monastic institute. We wish all three men well as they discern their vocation and pray God’s blessing on them.
