God’s Way is Ongoing Discovery
Vocation Director Reflection by Fr. Kevin Walsh
There is a prayer offered by Saint Bernardt hat can be of great help to us:
“O Wisdom, reaching mightily from end to end and arranging all things sweetly by enriching the affections and setting them in order: guide our actions as your eternal truth requires, that each of us may confidently boast in you and say: ‘he set love in order in me.’ For you are the strength of God, Christ the Church’s bridegroom, our Lord and God for ever. Amen.”
To order our lives in God’s way is an ongoing learning. God’s way is love. We love God, neighbor and self in an ongoing discovery that expands as we give ourselves more and more to God. Learning to order our time to an appreciation of God’s desire to be with and within us, to welcoming God who desires to be with and within us, is not a burden but a delight. May God give us that disposition to so order our thoughts and lives to the reality that God is always with us.
