Meditation Garden of Truth & Reconciliation featured at national Native American-Catholic conference
Deacon Larry M. Deschaine, Ph.D., recently gave the keynote address at the 85th Annual National Tekakwitha Conference, Raleigh, NC. The conference explores on the connection of the Native American and Catholic communities. Deacon Deschaine, a permanent deacon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edgefield, is of Native Catholic family ancestry and is a scholar in the field. He has also been involved in the creation of Mepkin’s Meditation Garden.
