Sister Maureen, OCSO, of Wrentahm gives our 2025 Retreat

Sister Maureen McCabe of Mount Saint Mary Abbey in Wrentham, Massachusetts, was with us August 17th to 23rd to give our annual retreat.  Having served her community for a number of years as novice director and then abbess, Sister Maureen shared from her rich background inviting us to go deeper in our appreciation of Cistercian contemplative monastic life.  Citing experiences from living her own call, calling our attention to specific scripture passages, drawing on her knowledge of the Cistercian charism and Cistercian authors and offering examples from the lives of others making their responses to God’s voice calling them to follow this path, we were both encouraged and challenged to engage fully in allowing our desire for God to come to its fullest expression in meeting God’s desire for us.
