New Monastic Resident
New Monastic Resident
At the end of the Monastic Institute, a number of participants expressed interest in taking part of the Residency program. This involves living and working in the Mepkin community for a year. Roger Haigney is already a Resident, and at the end of August, he was joined by Joe Duquette. Joe is a native of Massachusetts and has lived in New York, Los Angeles, and Paris. During his time in Paris about 13 years ago, he was a member of Les Fraternité Monastique de Jerusalem. Joe’s profession was acting, and he spent time working as a hospital chaplain. He also studied clinical pastoral education and led retreats entitled “Acting out Your Spirituality.” We wish Joe every blessing in the year ahead at Mepkin.
